It's possible that I haven't written in quite a while, so here's a little update of recent and upcoming events:
Choir News: The ward choir performed and sounded very nice. I'm also very pleased as well as relieved to announce that I didn't do any of the things I had feared. Among my nightmares were:
- forgetting to "bring in" the choir on time.
- locking my legs and fainting -- I do tend to have fainting problems when I am kneeling, but I have never actually fainted from locking my knees -- however, whoever said that fears were rational?
- losing my slip -- I think I'm scarred from memories of conducting in primary years ago when my slip fell down -- though that was because I was very pregnant and the slip had stretched out.
Jerusalem: I think you all know that Stephanie was accepted to the Jerusalem program, but she has gone for her final interview and she is now officially accepted. I am excited about her going to the Jerusalem Center, but I try not to think about the rest of Israel or the areas surrounding Israel.
Halloween Dance: Jordan has been invited to the girl's choice Halloween Dance by Miriam (a Swedish exchange student) at our school. He really needs to answer her back right away. Does anyone have any cute ideas? I don't think he likes my idea of calling her or even texting her and saying, "Yes, I'd love to go with you." Sadly, I think that falls in the category of "novel idea" these days.
Band Trip to Disneyland: Jordan is going with the band to St. George, Las Vegas, and then Disneyland this weekend. He and his band will be marching in the Disneyland Parade next Monday at 6:45 p.m. in case you want to be there!
John in the Dog House: John is in the dog house with Stephanie. He thinks he's really funny because he asked her new beau to be his friend on facebook. He saw that Chris's brother and sister had requested to be friends with Stephanie, so John thought that he would do the same thing. I berated him for quite a while on Sunday morning when I found out what he had done, then I proceeded to have him show me how to get on his facebook so I could check it out! :) I don't claim to be consistent!
Stock Tip for the Day: If you do not already own a brokerage account, do not think you can instantly take advantage of a good deal in the stock market. The online account I tried to open the morning before Cheryl's wedding is still not up and running. It took a few days for them to verify my bank account that I wanted to transfer money from, then it took a few days for the money I transferred to show up in the account, and now many days later, the money is still not available. Because it is a new account, they have to hold the money for 1 week before I can use it to make sure I'm not a terrorist or something. We decided to open a Wells Fargo brokerage account instead, which only took 3 days rather than the 2-week deal, but nonetheless we now know all the rigamarole that all the Joe Plumbers, the Joe six-packs, the hockey moms, and the people who live on Main Street have to go through when they try to play on Wall Street. (OK, I think I've been listening to too much election coverage!)

Could Jordan answer her with Swedish Fish? That's as creative as I get.
