December 2008

December has been a whirlwind month for us, which I think can be said for everyone! I thought I'd include some of the highlights of the month . . .

For all who were wondering, the mouse finally met its demise. (Sorry, no picture included.)

Jordan turned 17 on December 16, and we celebrated at the Texas Road House. Jordan and Chelsie would like to inform everyone that they should probably not order the "road kill" which is just hamburger in disguise, but the rest of us really enjoyed our sirloin steaks.

I would like to thank Suzanne and James and their family for letting us share Christmas with them. I think we will always remember this Christmas with fondness. We loved spending time with their family and wished they did not live so far away. When Noah saw Jordan go out the front door bringing suitcases to the car, he thought Jordan was leaving and yelled out, "Goodbye! I will miss you!" At that moment I considered the possibilities of moving to Dallas! We also thought their December record-breaking weather was a plus!

The rest of the group was quite intrigued with John's personal Christmas feast. He was willing to share, but nobody wanted to try any of his smoked oysters, caviar, blue cheese, and green olives.

Stephanie's future in-laws came to visit after Chris made a surprise announcement to them Christmas morning. They made a quick trip from Pendleton, Oregon to see Stephanie before she takes off for Jerusalem. In case this message isn't cryptic (or obvious) enough, put a big star on Friday, August 7. I will let Stephanie share her news officially!

We are attending a Jerusalem Center parent information meeting on Monday and then will be bringing Stephanie to the airport on Tuesday morning. She knows that the only "string attached" to her trip is that she keep us updated with her blog. I hear they keep the students very busy, but hopefully there will be some time on a regular basis for blogging.

John and I give two thumbs up for Chris. He and Stephanie look like a great match. Please offer Stephanie a "post-dated" congratulations for whenever it becomes official.

Looks like you had a great time in Texas. Cute picture of Noah and Jordan.

It's so fun to look at your pictures. I'm so glad you came out here - we had such a great time with everyone! Now we're making our plans for this summer:) I want copies of some of your pictures, especially the ones with Jordan and Noah.
