This is supposed to be a morning to sleep in, one of my last for the next nine months, but somehow I didn't get the memo and was wide awake by 6:00 a.m. I have pumpkin bread in the oven and everyone else is still asleep, so I decided that it might be time for a blogging update.
Highlights of the week:
- I got my final copy of my book in the mail on Friday. Except for one annoying typo ("there" is not spelled "thiere"), I am ready to order books which I will attempt to sell. That means I have to get the checkout system and merchant account up and running on the website. If I don't sell any, they just might be my Christmas present to everyone this year. The blue book with red spine cover would look very nice next to Grandma's red books! :)
- I now know who to blame for my refrigerator breaking this weekend. John and I stopped by Wendy's house Friday night to pick up our kids on our way home from the temple, and when we got home, we were thinking our ice cream seemed to be a little soft. We moved it to the outside freezer, and the next morning we found a puddle of water on the floor in the kitchen because all the ice in our ice compartment had melted. I would have thought that 14 1/2 years was all the refrigerator could handle, but now I know it was because I came too close to Wendy. :)
John has joined me, and he is making omelettes for our Sunday morning breakfast. This year we have late church (1:00), so we started the tradition of having nice breakfasts on Sunday morning. When John was still working at R.C. Willey and had to be at work on Saturday mornings, we didn't really have any good morning for having a bigger breakfast. With his new schedule and with it being summer, we have a few more options but we still prefer Sunday mornings. We will probably make some changes next year when church starts at 9:00 a.m. John thinks I've abandoned my sausage post, and the smells in the house are bringing everyone to the kitchen, so it's time for me to sign off.
